mobileQ is a free, open-source web dashboard and Android smartphone application developed by the research group of quantitative psychology and individual differences at KU Leuven to enable researchers to perform experience sampling or ecological momentary assessment (ESM/EMA) studies and interventions in an easy, intuitive, and accessible way.

Survey

Design your own ESM/EMA study with an easy-to-use web interface.

Compliance

Collect data while you track the compliance and progress online.

Response formats

With internet access, incoming data can be continuously transferred and monitored online, but no internet connection is required.

Academic use only

You are only allowed to use the software and service for academic research purposes.

Compatibility

The software is only tested on the phones our research group is using.

Documentation

As mobileQ is a free, open-source project, there is no active helpdesk. To help you get started we will be providing the following resources:

Paper

The mobileQ paper is accepted by Behavior Research Methods and can currently be found at PsyArXiv.

Download

mobileQ hosted locally

You can use mobileQ locally. This option allows you to download all the mobileQ software yourself, and install it on your own servers. All data you collect will be immediately stored on your own server, rather than our KU Leuven server. This option is advised when you want to have the data directly collected on a local server. This option requires technical knowledge needed to install mobileQ on your own server.
